Privacy Policy
How Madison United Soccer Association handles information on this website and in the MUSA Soccer mobile app. Last updated 6 September 2026.
The mobile app
You can install the app, choose the fields you care about, and receive closure alerts without creating an account. We deliberately do not collect a name, an email address, a phone number, or a location.
When you turn on notifications, we store:
- A push token. An anonymous identifier issued by Expo's push service that lets us send a notification to your phone. It identifies an installation, not a person.
- Which fields and topics you follow, so we only send you alerts for places you chose.
- The platform and app version — "ios", "1.0.0" — so we can tell which builds are failing to receive notifications.
If you never turn on notifications, none of the above is created. The app still works: closures are there whenever you open it.
Registering on this website
Registration forms ask for what the program actually needs: the player's name and age group, a birth year, and a guardian's contact details so we can reach someone about a session.
We store a birth year rather than a date of birth. Age group is what decides which sessions a player is eligible for, and a year answers that. We do not collect player photographs, we do not create accounts for players, and we do not collect any location data about a player.
Applications for financial assistance include the information the scholarship agreement asks for. Those are read by club administrators only.
Children's information
Players are minors, and the records we hold about them are kept to the minimum that running a soccer program requires: a name, a birth year, an age group, and which sessions they are registered for. A guardian is the account holder for anything a family submits. A guardian may ask us at any time to show them, correct, or delete what we hold about their child, using the contact address below.
Who else sees this information
We use a small number of service providers to run the club. They process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything of their own:
- Expo — delivers push notifications to your phone.
- Supabase and Snowflake — store club records.
- Amazon Web Services — stores documents and announcement artwork.
- Render — runs this website.
- Google — sends email that club administrators send from the site.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the app.
Our internal reporting works from a copy of club records that contains no names, email addresses, or phone numbers — only identifiers and counts. Reporting on how many players are enrolled does not require knowing who they are.
Deleting your data
In the app. Open Settings, scroll to Your data, and choose Remove this device. That immediately deletes the push token and the list of fields you follow. It takes effect straight away and needs no account and no email.
If you have already deleted the app, or you want a registration record removed, email matthew.thacker@musasoccer.com and say what you would like deleted. We will confirm when it is done.
Some records are kept after a deletion request where we are required to: a registration that a payment relates to, for example. We will tell you if that applies and why.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, say so in the app's news feed.
